Instructions for use of Sic-Ophtal sine eye drops
Sic-Ophtal sine are eye drops without preservatives.The active ingredient is hypromellose.These eye drops are used for the symptomatic treatment of dry eye symptoms of the cornea and conjunctiva, also known as “dry eye”.These symptoms can be caused by disorders of tear secretion or function, local or systemic diseases, and incomplete eyelid closure.The drops are particularly suitable for patients who cannot tolerate preserved artificial tear substitutes.
No prescription is required for this product.Please read this entire leaflet carefully as it contains important information.Keep this leaflet in case you want to read it again later.Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you need further information or advice.If your symptoms worsen or do not improve, please seek medical attention.Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet.
Important notes
Sic-Ophtal sine must not be used if you are hypersensitive to hypromellose or any of the other ingredients.If you also use other eye drops or eye ointments, there should be an interval of around 10-15 minutes between them.Sic-Ophtal sine should always be used last.Tell your doctor or pharmacist about other medicines you use.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, Sic-Ophtal sine should only be used after careful risk-benefit assessment by the doctor.After instillation, visual acuity may worsen for a few minutes.Therefore, avoid operating machines or driving for a few minutes after application.
Application
Unless otherwise prescribed, drip 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 3 to 5 times a day or more frequently as needed.Dry eye therapy requires individual dosage.Removing contact lenses is not necessary when using Sic-Ophtal sine.There is no known risk associated with overdose.Do not take a double dose if you forget to use it.
Side effects
Possible side effects include hypersensitivity and intolerance reactions such as burning, pain, increased tearing, foreign body sensation, conjunctival redness, eyelid swelling and itching.Rash and itching may also occur.If you notice any side effects, please report them to your doctor or pharmacist.
Storage
The medicine must no longer be used after the expiry date.Sic-Ophtal sine does not contain any preservatives.Open single-dose containers must not be stored.The remaining amount in the single-dose container after application must be discarded.Do not store the medicine above 25°C.
Composition
1 ml eye drops contains 3.20 mg hypromellose.The other ingredients are sodium monohydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sorbitol and water for injections.

Sic-Ophtal sine is a tear substitute that is used for the symptomatic treatment of dryness of the cornea and conjunctiva.The viscosity of the eye drops is between 7 and 11 mPa s.Proper handling of single-dose containers includes separating a container from the bar, twisting off the cap, and holding it vertically over the eye to instill.
