Mode of action

NU-GEL Hydrogel is a hydroactive, amorphous and transparent gel.It contains sodium alginate, which gently and effectively dissolves and removes both fibrinous plaque and necrotic tissue.The gel creates a moist wound healing environment that promotes natural autolytic debridement.The alginate component supports the absorption capacity.Due to the hydrating properties of the gel, it can also be used to hydrate and soften scabs.

Application

NU-GEL Hydrogel can be applied to the wound using a simple one-handed technique.The bellows bottle allows for easy application of the wound gel and minimizes product loss.A randomized controlled trial on pressure ulcers shows a median retention time of 2.78 days of NU-GEL hydrogel on the wound before a secondary dressing change is necessary - 38% longer than IntraSite1 (p = 0.014).

Indications

NU-GEL Hydrogel helps create a moist wound healing environment and is suitable for debridement, eschar removal and chronic wound management at all stages of the wound healing process.
