Berberil N EDO eye drops are a medicine for influencing the organ nervous system from the group of alpha-sympathomimetics.They contain the active ingredient tetryzoline hydrochloride and are used to relieve eye irritation and allergic inflammation of the eye.The eye drops ensure rapid swelling of dilated vessels in the conjunctiva and the elimination of redness.

Areas of application

Berberil N EDO eye drops are used for eye irritation caused by smoke, wind, chlorinated water and light.They are also suitable for allergic inflammation of the eye, such as that caused by hay fever or pollen hypersensitivity.

Dosage and instructions for use

The recommended dose, unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, is 1 drop of Berberil N EDO eye drops per eye 2 to 3 times daily.It should not be used for longer than 5 days without medical supervision.To use on the eye, tilt your head slightly backwards, pull down the lower eyelid a little and hold the drip container with the opening facing downwards.Gently squeeze the dropper container without touching the eye or surrounding skin until a drop falls into the lower eyelid.Close your eye and move it slightly to the right and left to distribute the drop well over the surface of the eye.

The active ingredient is tetryzoline hydrochloride.1 ml solution contains 0.50 mg tetryzoline hydrochloride.The other ingredients are sorbitol, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium monohydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, hypromellose and water for injections.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used in angle-closure glaucoma, hypersensitivity to tetryzoline hydrochloride or any of the other components of the medicine and in children under 2 years of age.

Side effects

Possible side effects include eye irritation and visual disturbances such as blurred vision.In rare cases, systemic sympathomimetic effects may occur.

Storage

Keep this medicine out of the reach and reach of children and do not store it above 25°C.The eye drops in the single-dose containers are intended for one use only and should be discarded after use.Never dispose of medicines via wastewater.Ask your pharmacy how to throw away medicine when you no longer use it.

Patient information

The eye drops must not be used in narrow-angle glaucoma.For other forms of glaucoma, use should only be carried out with particular caution and under medical supervision.The eye drops must not be swallowed and should therefore be kept out of the reach of children.In rare cases, blurred vision and glare may occur.You can then no longer react quickly and specifically enough to unexpected and sudden events.In these cases, do not drive a car or other vehicles!Do not operate any electrical tools or machines!Do not work without a secure hold!

Pregnancy

The eye drops must not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Other

Since eye irritation or redness can be a sign of a serious eye disease, you should consult an ophthalmologist.The ophthalmologist must be consulted immediately if the eye redness occurs acutely or on one side, as well as if eye pain or headaches, worsening vision or flying spots occur in front of the eyes.Medicines can affect vision and thus the ability to react in traffic or when operating machines.Contact lenses should not be worn during treatment (soft ones) or only after consultation with an ophthalmologist (hard ones) (in no case during the introduction of the medicine into the eye).
