VISMED® Single doses: wetting solution with hyaluronic acid and important electrolytes

VISMED® contains sodium hyaluronate, a natural polymer that also occurs in structures of the human eye.The special physical properties of sodium hyaluronate give VISMED® important viscoelastic and water-binding properties. VISMED® forms a stable layer on the surface of the eye, which is only gradually removed by blinking.Because of its special composition, VISMED® is excellently tolerated and free of preservatives.

Areas of application

VISMED® Single doses may help with appearances and signs of dry eye and/or damage to the ocular surface resulting from some diseases such as superficial keratitis, Sjogren's syndrome or primary dry eye syndrome.It is also used to lubricate the eyes when there is a subjective feeling of dryness, as well as for burning and tired eyes and other minor health problems without any clinical significance.These symptoms can be caused by dust, smoke, dry heat, air-conditioned air, wind, cold, prolonged screen work or wearing contact lenses (hard and soft).

Dosage instructions and method of application

Unscrew the cap from the single-dose container, tilt your head back and hold the drip opening over the eye to be treated.Use the index finger of one hand to pull the lower eyelid down.By gently squeezing the container, a drop of the VISMED® solution is released.Unless otherwise recommended, drip 1-2 drops of VISMED® into the eye as needed.By blinking, the solution is distributed and forms a transparent and durable layer of liquid on the surface of the eye. VISMED® can also be used while wearing hard or soft contact lenses.

Precautions

Do not touch the drip opening of the opened ampoule and do not bring it into direct contact with the eye.Otherwise, the ampoule should be discarded immediately after use.Close the ampoule again after use.Since VISMED® contains no preservatives, the solution should be used within 12 hours of opening.Any solution not used within 12 hours of opening must be discarded.Otherwise sterility is no longer guaranteed and this can lead to a risk of infection.Do not use damaged ampoules of VISMED®.Store below 30 °C!Don't freeze! VISMED® Do not use after the expiry date stated on the ampoule and folding box.If your symptoms persist while using VISMED®, you should seek medical treatment.Keep out of the reach of children.

Composition

1 ml solution contains 1.8 mg sodium hyaluronate as well as sodium chloride, potassium chloride, disodium hydrogen phosphate, sodium citrate, magnesium chloride, calcium chloride and water for injections.The solution is hypotonic.

VISMED® single-dose ampoules contain the electrolytes potassium, magnesium and calcium in a concentration corresponding to the tear film.

Please always keep VISMED® out of the reach of children and store the ampoules between 2°C and 25°C.The medical product may no longer be used after the expiry date has expired.

Dosage

Intake

Bend your head back slightly, pull the lower eyelid down slightly and let 1-2 drops fall into the conjunctival sac.
