Vismed single doses contains sodium hyaluronate, a natural polymer that also occurs in the structures of the human eye.The special physical properties of sodium hyaluronate give Vismed its important viscoelastic and water-binding properties.Vismed forms a stable layer on the surface of the eye, which is only gradually removed by blinking.This means that Vismed combines a long-lasting effect with maximum comfort.Because of its special composition, Vismed is excellently tolerated and free of preservatives.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

Vismed single dose is used for the appearance and signs of dry eye and/or damage to the ocular surface resulting from some diseases such as superficial keratitis, Sjögren's syndrome or primary dry eye syndrome.It is also used to lubricate the eyes when there is a subjective feeling of dryness, as well as when the eyes are burning and tired, and other minor health problems without any clinical significance, caused, for example, by dust, smoke, dry heat, air-conditioned air, wind, cold, prolonged screen work or wearing contact lenses (hard and soft).

Dosage instructions and method of application

Unscrew the cap from the single-dose container, tilt your head back and hold the drip opening over the eye to be treated.Use the index finger of one hand to pull the lower eyelid down.By gently squeezing the container, a drop of Vismed solution is released.Unless otherwise recommended, drip 1-2 drops of Vismed into the eye as needed.By blinking, the solution is distributed and forms a transparent and durable layer of liquid on the surface of the eye.Vismed can also be used while wearing hard or soft contact lenses.

Precautions

Do not touch the drip opening of the opened ampoule or bring it into direct contact with the eye.Otherwise, the ampoule should be discarded immediately after use.Close the ampoule again after use.Since Vismed does not contain preservatives, the solution should be used within 12 hours of opening.Any solution not used within 12 hours of opening must be discarded.Otherwise sterility is no longer guaranteed and this can lead to a risk of infection.Do not use damaged Vismed ampoules.Store below 30 °C!Don't freeze!Do not use Vismed after the expiry date stated on the ampoule and carton.If your symptoms persist while using Vismed, you should seek medical treatment.Keep out of the reach of children.

Composition

1 ml solution contains 1.8 mg sodium hyaluronate as well as sodium chloride, potassium chloride, disodium hydrogen phosphate, sodium citrate, magnesium chloride, calcium chloride and water for injections.The solution is hypotonic.
