Instructions for use of Deacura 5 mg tablets

Deacura 5 mg tablets contain the active ingredient biotin and are a vitamin preparation.They are used to prevent and treat biotin deficiency as well as to treat biotin deficiency states in the very rare biotin-dependent, multiple carboxylase deficiency.No prescription is required for this product.

Important information before use

Deacura 5 mg must not be used if you are allergic to biotin or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.Tell your doctor or pharmacist about other medicines you are taking, as certain anti-seizure medications can lower levels of biotin in the blood.Pregnant and breastfeeding women should seek medical advice before taking.

How to use Deacura 5 mg

Always take Deacura 5 mg exactly as directed in the package leaflet.The usual dose is 1/2 to 1 tablet (corresponding to 2.5 to 5 mg of biotin) daily for prevention and 1 to 2 tablets (corresponding to 5 to 10 mg of biotin) to treat multiple carboxylase deficiency.The tablets should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid.The duration of use depends on the course of the underlying disease and should be discussed with your doctor.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Deacura 5 mg can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.Very rarely, allergic skin reactions can occur.If you notice any side effects, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Composition and storage

In addition to biotin as the active ingredient, Deacura 5 mg contains the excipients microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, povidone K 30, crospovidone and magnesium stearate.The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date stated on the package.After opening the container, the shelf life is 9 months.
