Instructions for use of Biotin beta 5 tablets

Biotin beta 5 tablets contain the active ingredient biotin, also known as vitamin H or vitamin B7.This vitamin is water-soluble and belongs to the vitamin B complex.Biotin is involved in many metabolic processes, including carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism.It promotes cell growth and supports the formation of new hair roots and nail beds.

Areas of application

Biotin beta 5 tablets are used to prevent and treat biotin deficiency.For prevention, less than 0.2 mg of biotin per day is sufficient.The preparation is also used to treat biotin deficiency in the very rare biotin-dependent multiple carboxylase deficiency.

Before taking Biotin beta 5

Biotin beta 5 must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to biotin or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have used any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.There is evidence that anti-seizure medicines (anticonvulsants) can lower the level of biotin in the blood plasma.

Before taking Biotin beta 5, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.When used as intended, there are no restrictions.There are no known impairments to the ability to drive or use machines.

Biotin beta 5 contains lactose.If you know that you have an intolerance to certain sugars, only take the product after consulting your doctor.

Application of Biotin beta 5

Always take Biotin beta 5 exactly according to the instructions in this leaflet.Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.The usual dose is 1 - 2 tablets (corresponding to 5 mg - 10 mg biotin) daily.For prophylaxis, less than 0.2 mg of biotin per day is sufficient.To treat multiple carboxylase deficiency, take 1 - 2 tablets daily.Take the tablets whole with enough liquid.

Biotin beta 5 is taken until the biotin levels in the blood normalize.The duration depends on the course of the underlying disease.In the very rare case of biotin-dependent, multiple carboxylase deficiency, it is taken for life.Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you think the effect is too strong or too weak.Poisoning and overdose symptoms are not known.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Biotin beta 5 can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.Allergic skin reactions (hives) have been described very rarely.Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if the side effects listed seriously affect you or if you notice any side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.

Storage of biotin beta 5

Keep Biotin beta 5 out of the reach of children.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton and blister pack.The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.

Composition of biotin beta 5

The active ingredient is biotin.1 tablet contains 5 mg of biotin.The other ingredients are lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, povidone K 30 and magnesium stearate.

Biotin beta 5 is available in original packs of 20, 50 and 100 tablets.
