What is Vivimed® N for fever and headaches and what is it used for?

Vivimed® N against fever and headaches is a painkilling and fever-reducing medicine.It is used for mild to moderate pain and fever.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

Vivimed® N against fever and headaches is used for mild to moderate pain, such as headaches, menstrual pain and toothache, as well as for fever.The medicine should not be taken for more than three days without medical or dental advice.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Vivimed® N against fever and headaches is paracetamol with a dosage of 500 mg per tablet.The excipients include microcrystalline cellulose, povidone K29-32, magnesium stearate and carboxymethyl starch, sodium salt type A.

Dosage and application

The dosage of Vivimed® N for fever and headaches depends on the patient's body weight and age.Children 4 to 8 years old weighing 17 to 25 kg should take half a tablet every 6 hours, but no more than four half tablets per day.Children 8 to 11 years old and weighing 26 to 32 kg can also take half a tablet every 6 hours, but no more than four half tablets per day.Children 11 to 12 years old weighing 33 to 43 kg should take one whole tablet every 6 hours, but no more than four tablets per day.Adolescents aged 12 and over and adults weighing 43 kg or more can take one to two tablets every 6 hours, but no more than eight tablets per day.

The tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid.Taking it after meals may result in a delayed onset of action.

Contraindications

Vivimed® N for fever and headaches must not be taken if you are known to be hypersensitive to the active ingredient or one of the other ingredients.The medicine should also not be used in cases of severe liver dysfunction, impaired kidney function, Gilbert's syndrome, alcohol abuse, hereditary enzyme deficiency (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency), anemia due to the rapid breakdown of red blood cells (hemolytic anemia), glutathione deficiency, lack of fluids and malnutrition.Children under 4 years of age should not take the medicine.

Side effects

Side effects are rare and include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, paleness and abdominal pain.If side effects occur, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted.

Mode of action

The active ingredient paracetamol has a pain-relieving and fever-reducing effect.It blocks the formation of prostaglandins, which are involved in the development of pain, fever and inflammation.

Storage

Vivimed® N against fever and headaches should be kept out of the reach of children, tightly closed and protected from light.The medicine must no longer be used after the expiry date.

Important notes

If you have pain or fever, do not use for longer than stated in the package leaflet without medical advice.Habitual use of painkillers can cause permanent kidney damage.Caution is advised if you are allergic to painkillers or if you are consuming alcohol at the same time.Interactions with other medicines may occur.
