General information
Pfeil Zahnache-Tabletten® forte 400 mg film-coated tablets are a pain-relieving, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory medicine that is used for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain, such as toothache.No prescription is required for this product.
Active ingredients and ingredients
The active ingredient in Pfeil Zahnache Tablets® forte is ibuprofen.Each film-coated tablet contains 400 mg ibuprofen.The other ingredients are carboxymethyl starch sodium (type A) (Ph.Eur.), hypromellose, Macrogol 400, Macrogol 6000, magnesium stearate (Ph.Eur.) and corn starch.
Areas of application
Pfeil Toothache Tablets® forte are used for mild to moderate pain, such as toothache, headaches and menstrual pain.The medicine is also suitable for the symptomatic treatment of fever.
Dosage and application
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.The recommended dose is:
Children aged 6-9 years (with a body weight of 20-29 kg): 1/2 tablet 1-3 times a day with an interval of 6 hours.
Children aged 10-12 years (with a body weight of 30-39 kg): 1/2 tablet 1-4 times a day with an interval of 6 hours.
Adolescents aged 12 and over and adults (body weight over 40 kg): 1/2-1 tablet 1-4 times a day (max. 3 tablets per day) at an interval of 6 hours.
Please take the film-coated tablets whole with plenty of liquid (e.g. a glass of water) during or after a meal.The tablet can be divided into equal doses.Do not take Pfeil Zahnache-Tablets® for longer than 4 days without medical or dental advice.
Contraindications
Arrow Toothache Tablets® forte must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients of the drug, if you have had asthma attacks, nasal mucous membrane swelling or skin reactions in the past after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, if you have stomach or intestinal ulcers or in the last three months of pregnancy.Children under 6 years of age should not take the medicine.
Side effects
Possible side effects include gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, vomiting, heartburn, flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, bleeding in the gastrointestinal area, tarry stools, inflammation of the gastric mucosa, ulcers in the digestive tract, inflammation of the oral mucosa, headache, dizziness, tiredness, insomnia, irritability, agitation, hypersensitivity reactions of the skin such as rash and itching, attacks of shortness of breath and visual disturbances.
Storage
Keep this medicine out of the reach and reach of children.You must not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the outer carton and blister pack after “use by” or “use by”.This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.Never dispose of medicines via wastewater.Ask your pharmacy how to throw away medicine when you no longer use it.
Patient information
Particular caution is required when taking the drug if you suffer from allergies, chronic swelling of the mucous membranes or chronic respiratory diseases, a congenital blood formation disorder, certain immune system diseases, gastrointestinal complaints, kidney or liver diseases, high blood pressure or cardiac insufficiency.Long-term, high-dose, improper use of painkillers can cause headaches, which should not be treated with increased doses of the drug.Habitual use of painkillers can cause permanent kidney damage.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Before taking any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.In the first and second trimesters of pregnancy, the medicine should only be used after consulting your doctor.The medicine must not be used in the last three months due to an increased risk of complications for mother and child during birth.Breastfeeding: The active ingredient ibuprofen and its breakdown products pass into breast milk in small quantities.Since adverse effects on infants have not yet been reported, interruption of breastfeeding will not be necessary for short-term use of the recommended dose in the event of mild to moderate pain or fever.
