Dosage and application

The usual dose for adults and the elderly is one chewable tablet daily, which contains 1000 mg calcium and 880 IU vitamin D3.Pregnant women should take half a chewable tablet daily, which corresponds to 500 mg calcium and 440 IU vitamin D3.The tablet must be chewed before it is swallowed.It can be taken at any time of the day, regardless of meals.

Taking Calcigen D Intens 1000 mg/880 IU chewable tablets is a long-term treatment.Talk to your doctor about how long you should take the product.

Contraindications

Calcigen D Intens 1000 mg/880 IU chewable tablets must not be taken if you are allergic to calcium, vitamin D3 or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.The preparation should also not be taken if there are elevated calcium blood levels, increased calcium excretion in the urine, hyperfunction of the parathyroid gland, bone marrow cancer, cancer that spreads to the bones, prolonged immobilization of the limbs, kidney stones, calcium deposits in the kidneys, vitamin D overdose or severe kidney problems.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Calcigen D Intens 1000 mg/880 IU chewable tablets can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.Possible side effects include nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation, gas, bloating, rash, itching, hives, high calcium levels in the blood or urine.

Composition

Each chewable tablet contains 2500 mg calcium carbonate (equivalent to 1000 mg calcium) and 8.8 mg colecalciferol dry concentrate (powder form) (equivalent to 22 micrograms colecalciferol = 880 IU vitamin D3).The other ingredients are isomalt (E953), xylitol, sorbitol (E420), citric acid, sodium dihydrogen citrate, magnesium stearate (vegetable), carmellose sodium, orange flavor "CPB" and orange flavor "CVT" (both contain sorbitol (E420)), aspartame (E951), acesulfame potassium, sodium ascorbate,all-rac-a-tocopherol, starch, modified (corn), sucrose (sugar), medium-chain triglycerides and colloidal silicon dioxide.

Storage

Keep medicines out of the reach of children.You must not use Calcigen D Intens 1000 mg/880 IU chewable tablets after the expiry date stated on the carton and tube or foil strip.The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
