Paracetamol STADA® is a painkiller and antipyretic medicine that is used for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain such as headaches, toothaches, menstrual pain and fever.The active ingredient paracetamol has an analgesic and antipyretic effect, inhibiting the formation of certain messenger substances in the body that are involved in the development of pain, fever and inflammation.

Areas of application

Paracetamol STADA® is used to relieve pain and fever.It is suitable for headaches, body aches, toothaches, period pains and fever that occurs with colds or flu-like infections.The normal body temperature is 36 to 37° C, and above 38° C it is referred to as fever.

Dosage and application

The dosage of Paracetamol STADA® depends on the patient's body weight and age.The recommended single dose is 10 to 15 mg of paracetamol per kg of body weight, with the maximum total daily dose not exceeding 60 mg per kg of body weight.The dosing interval should be at least six hours.

For children between 4 and 8 years old with a body weight of 17 to 25 kg, the single dose is half a tablet (250 mg paracetamol), the maximum daily dose is two tablets (1000 mg paracetamol).Children between 8 and 11 years old and weighing 26 to 32 kg can also take half a tablet four to six times a day, but not more than three tablets per day.Children between 11 and 12 years old and weighing 33 to 43 kg take one whole tablet four times a day, with a maximum daily dose of four tablets.Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over who weigh more than 43 kg can take one to two tablets four times a day, but not more than eight tablets per day.

The tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid.Taking it after meals may result in a delayed onset of action.The medicine should not be taken for longer than three days without medical advice.

Contraindications

Paracetamol STADA® should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, have liver disease, Meulengracht disease or kidney disease.The medicine should not be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding or in children under 6 years of age without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

Side effects

Side effects are rare and usually only occur in exceptional cases.Possible side effects include discomfort or changes during treatment.If such symptoms occur, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted.

Composition

The active ingredient in Paracetamol STADA® is paracetamol.One tablet contains 500 mg paracetamol.The other ingredients are carboxymethyl starch sodium (type A), microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate and povidone K 90.

Mode of action

Paracetamol has an analgesic and antipyretic effect by inhibiting the formation of prostaglandins, which are involved in the development of pain, fever and inflammation.It also blocks the effects of substances that affect the temperature regulation center in the brain.

Storage

The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date stated on the packaging.No special storage conditions are required.
