Peppermint tea is used for cramp-like gastrointestinal complaints as well as for problems with the gallbladder and bile ducts.No prescription is required for this product.

Composition

Peppermint tea consists of peppermint leaves.Peppermint is a perennial herb with square, reddish stems and pink flowers.It occurs in Europe and North America.The main ingredients are menthol, menthone (essential oils) and tannins.The leaves as well as extracts and tinctures from them and the essential oil are used.

Type of application

The tea is used to drink after making a tea infusion.Unless otherwise prescribed, a cup of the tea infusion prepared as follows is drunk 2-4 times a day: 1 tablespoon (1.5 g) of peppermint tea is poured with boiling water (approx. 150 ml) and after about 10-15 minutes, if necessary, strained through a tea strainer.

Contraindications

If you have gallstones, peppermint tea should only be used after consulting a doctor.There are no specific findings regarding use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.If you are hypersensitive to the ingredients, the tea should not be used.
