Instructions for use for the article wormwood tea

Wormwood tea is a tea made from the wormwood herb (Artemisia absinthium L.).This product is available without a prescription.The areas of application include loss of appetite, digestive problems with mild cramps in the gastrointestinal area, feeling of fullness, flatulence and cramp-like, functional disorders in the bile duct area.

Dosage and instructions for use

Adults should take 1.5 grams (equivalent to about a teaspoon) of wormwood tea twice daily.This can be done either 30 minutes before or after the meal.The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.The tea is prepared by pouring boiling water (approx. 150 ml) over it and after about 10-15 minutes pouring it through a tea strainer.Without medical advice, the medicine should not be used for longer than a week if the symptoms do not improve or the symptoms recur regularly.There are no known symptoms of overdose.Particular attention should be paid to careful dosage for infants, small children and the elderly.A dosage prescribed by the doctor may differ from the information in the package leaflet and should therefore be used according to his instructions.

Contraindications

The medicine should not be used if you are hypersensitive to the ingredients.Children under 12 years of age should generally not use the medicine.There is insufficient knowledge regarding pregnancy and breastfeeding.In these cases, seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist.If the medicine has been prescribed for you despite a contraindication, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Composition

The active ingredient in wormwood tea is wormwood, containing 1 gram per dose.

Mode of action

The ingredients of wormwood tea come from the wormwood plant and act as a natural mixture.Wormwood is a shrub up to 1.5 meters high with silvery, hairy, feathery leaves and numerous yellow, small flowers that form dense panicles.The plant is found in Europe, Western Asia and North America.The main ingredients are essential oils (thujone) and sesquiterpene bitter substances (absinthin).Mainly extracts and juice of the dried herb are used.The bitter substances and essential oils contained in wormwood lead to an increased release of gastric juice, stimulate the appetite and support digestion.

Important notes

Caution is advised if you are allergic to ascorbic acid (vitamin C), composite plants (e.g. arnica, marigold, yarrow, echinacea, chamomile), spices, essential oils, turpentine oil and phenol (e.g. pyrogallol, triclosan, vanillin).

Storage

The medicine must be protected from moisture and stored in the dark, for example in a tightly closed container or in the outer carton.
