Gabunat forte 10 mg is a vitamin preparation used to prevent and treat biotin deficiency.The active ingredient biotin, also known as vitamin B7 or vitamin H, is a water-soluble vitamin and part of the vitamin B complex.It is particularly needed for the functioning of metabolism, nerves, digestion and the cardiovascular system.

Areas of application

Gabunat forte 10 mg is used to prevent and treat biotin deficiency.For prevention, less than 0.2 mg of biotin per day is sufficient.In the case of a very rare biotin-dependent, multiple carboxylase deficiency, the preparation is taken for life.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each tablet contains 10 mg of biotin as an active ingredient.The other ingredients are crospovidone, microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate and povidone K30.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to biotin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Dosage and application

The recommended dose is 1 Gabunat forte 10 mg tablet daily, equivalent to 10 mg biotin.For prevention, less than 0.2 mg of biotin per day is sufficient.For lower dosages, preparations with a lower biotin content are available.

Please take the tablets whole with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of water.The score line is only used to divide the tablet to make it easier to swallow and not to divide it into equal doses.

Gabunat forte 10 mg should be taken until biotin levels in the blood normalize.The duration depends on the course of the underlying disease.Please consult your doctor about this.

Side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.Allergic skin reactions (hives) have been described very rarely (less than 1 in 10,000 treated).

Storage

Keep medicines out of the reach of children.Gabunat forte 10 mg should be stored dry and not above 25 °C.You must not use the medicine after the stated expiry date.

Notes

The preparation contains milk sugar (lactose).If you know that you have an intolerance to certain sugars, please only take Gabunat forte 10 mg after consulting your doctor.

Gabunat forte 10 mg has no influence on the ability to drive or use machines.
