Areas of application

Jodetten 150 Henning is used to prevent iodine deficiency in iodine deficiency areas and after removal of an iodine deficiency goiter.It is also used to treat goiter in newborns, children, adolescents and younger adults.The medication helps meet iodine needs and supports thyroid function.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Jodetten 150 Henning contains 196 micrograms of potassium iodide, which corresponds to 150 micrograms of iodide ions.In addition, it contains the following excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, hypromellose, light basic magnesium carbonate, hydrogenated castor oil and sodium cyclamate.

Contraindications

Jodetten 150 Henning must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to potassium iodide or any of the other ingredients.Its use is also contraindicated in the case of manifest hyperthyroidism, latent hyperthyroidism in a dosage of more than 150 micrograms of iodide per day, benign hormone-producing nodules or uncontrolled hormone-producing areas of the thyroid in a dosage of 300 to 1000 micrograms of iodide per day (except for preoperative treatment), hypocomplementemic vasculitis and dermatitis herpetiformis Duhring.

Dosage and application

The dosage of Jodetten 150 Henning depends on the area of application and the age group.To prevent goiter due to iodine deficiency, infants and children take half a tablet daily, while teenagers and adults take a full tablet daily.To treat iodine deficiency goiter, newborns, children, and adolescents take one tablet daily, and younger adults take two to three tablets daily.The tablets should be taken after a meal with sufficient liquid.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Jodetten 150 Henning can have side effects, although not everyone gets them.When used preventively and therapeutically in newborns, children and adolescents, side effects are not to be expected.In adults, iodine-related hyperthyroidism can occur in individual cases.If you are hypersensitive to iodine, you may experience fever, rash, itching and burning of the eyes, dry cough, diarrhea or headache.

Storage
