ELACUTAN Fat cream is a product with the active ingredient urea.It is used for dry skin conditions, neurodermatitis for supportive treatment, aging skin and for ichthyosis, also for supportive treatment.No prescription is required for this product.

The ELACUTAN fat cream is used for various skin conditions.These include dry skin, neurodermatitis for supportive treatment, aging skin and ichthyosis, also known as fish scale disease, for supportive treatment.

Dosage and instructions for use

Adults should apply a sufficient amount of the cream to the affected skin areas twice a day and massage in gently.It is important to ensure that the cream does not come into contact with mucous membranes or eyes.The duration of use depends on the type of symptoms and the course of the disease.

Skin irritation may occur in the event of an overdose.It is important to pay careful attention to dosage, especially in infants, young children and the elderly.If in doubt, you should contact a doctor or pharmacist.A dosage prescribed by the doctor may differ from the information in the package leaflet and should therefore be used according to his instructions.

Contraindications

The use of ELACUTAN fat cream is not suitable for people with hypersensitivity to the ingredients.If you have impaired kidney function or acute skin inflammation, you should speak to a doctor or pharmacist before use.Children and adolescents under the age of 18 should generally not use the medicine.

According to current knowledge, the medicine has no harmful effects on the development of the child or birth during pregnancy.The cream should not be applied to the breast while breastfeeding.If the medicine has been prescribed despite a contraindication, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist, as the therapeutic benefit may be greater than the risk.

Side effects

Side effects have only occurred in exceptional cases.If you notice any discomfort or change during treatment, you should contact a doctor or pharmacist.In particular, side effects that occur in at least one in 1,000 treated patients are taken into account.

Composition

The composition of the ELACUTAN fat cream includes 100 mg of urea as an active ingredient as well as the following excipients: white petroleum jelly, thin paraffin, hard paraffin, pre-gelatinized corn starch, sorbitan oleate, bleached wax, sorbitol, adipic acid and purified water.

Mode of action

Urea provides the skin with moisture and allows it to retain moisture for longer.This softens the upper horny layer and the skin becomes supple and softer.The addition of urea also allows other active ingredients to penetrate better into the deeper layers of the skin and enhance their effect.

Important notes

There may be medicines with which interactions occur.Therefore, before starting treatment with a new medicine, you should tell your doctor or pharmacist about all other medicines you are already using.This also applies to medicines that you buy yourself, only use occasionally or that were used some time ago.

Storage

The medicine must be stored away from heat.After opening or preparation, it may be used for a maximum of 15 months and should be stored at room temperature.
