Instructions for use of Elacutan fat cream

Elacutan fat cream is a medicine for regulating skin moisture.The active ingredient is urea.The cream is used to treat dry skin, for example neurodermatitis or aging skin.It also helps with exsiccation dermatoses, which are dry and pathological skin changes, as well as for the supportive treatment of ichthyosis, a congenital keratinization disorder also known as fish scale disease.

No prescription is required for this product.

Application and dosage

Elacutan fat cream is applied to the affected skin areas one to several times a day.The duration of use depends on the clinical findings and should generally not be longer than three weeks, as there is no clinical experience with a longer period of use.

Warnings and precautions

Elacutan fat cream must not be used if you are allergic to urea or any of the other ingredients in the cream.It should not be used to treat acute inflammatory skin conditions.If you have kidney disease, the cream should not be used over large areas.Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.The cream should not be applied to acutely inflammatory skin in order to avoid exacerbation of the skin disease.

Elacutan fat cream should not be used to treat children as there is insufficient experience with its use in this age group.If latex products are used at the same time, the auxiliary substances they contain can lead to a reduction in the functionality and thus to an impairment of the safety of these products.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Elacutan fat cream can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.Skin irritation is possible when used externally when treating acute inflammatory skin conditions.If you notice any side effects, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Composition

100 g Elacutan fat cream contains 10 g urea.The other ingredients are white petroleum jelly, thin paraffin, hard paraffin, pre-gelatinized starch (corn starch), sorbitan oleate, bleached wax, sorbitol (Ph. Eur.), adipic acid and purified water.

Storage

Keep Elacutan fat cream out of the reach of children and do not store the medicine above 25°C.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.The usability period after opening the tube is 15 months, but not longer than the stated expiry date.
