Voltaren Dolo 25 mg coated tablets contain the active ingredient diclofenac potassium, which belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAR).These tablets are suitable for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain, particularly back pain.The active ingredient has an anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effect by inhibiting the formation of certain messenger substances that are involved in pain and inflammatory reactions.
No prescription is required for this product.
The tablets contain sucrose (sugar), which may be important for people with an intolerance to sucrose.It is recommended not to use the medicine for more than four days without medical advice.
Application and dosage
Adults and young people aged 14 and over can initially take a coated tablet.Depending on your needs, the dose can be repeated every four to six hours, but no more than three tablets daily.The tablets should be taken one to two hours before meals with sufficient liquid, such as a glass of water.
Mode of action
Diclofenac potassium has an analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effect.It blocks the formation of prostaglandins, which are involved in the development of pain, fever and inflammation.The active ingredient is particularly well absorbed by the inflamed tissue and works directly on the painful area.
Composition
Each coated tablet contains 25 mg of diclofenac potassium as the active ingredient.The other ingredients include tricalcium phosphate, carboxymethyl starch sodium (type A), microcrystalline cellulose, iron (III) oxide (E 172), macrogol (8000), magnesium stearate, corn starch, povidone (K 30), sucrose, colloidal silicon dioxide, talc and titanium dioxide (E 171).
Contraindications and precautions
The medicine should not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to diclofenac or any of the other ingredients, blood formation disorders, ulcers in the gastrointestinal tract, active bleeding, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, heart failure and in the last trimester of pregnancy.Young people under the age of 14 should also not take the medicine.
Elderly patients should speak to their doctor before use as they are at increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.Concomitant use with other NSAR should be avoided.
Side effects
Possible side effects include gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence and abdominal pain, as well as headaches, dizziness, drowsiness, skin hypersensitivity reactions, hair loss and increased liver enzymes.If side effects occur, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted.

The medicine should be stored away from heat and moisture.
