Area of application

Respiratory infections are among the most common diseases.Acute bronchitis is one of them and can be accompanied by cough, runny nose and fever.Umckaloabo drops can help with this condition by relieving symptoms and shortening the duration of the illness.The active ingredient is an extract from the root of Capeland pelargonium, a South African plant.This extract has a triple effect: it inhibits the proliferation of cold viruses, promotes the removal of mucus and makes it more difficult for infectious agents to adhere to the mucous membranes.

Mode of action

The active ingredient in Umckaloabo drops stimulates the body's defense mechanisms and strengthens the immune response to invading microorganisms.The extract also has antibacterial and antiviral properties as well as cell-protecting effects.The ingredients of Capeland pelargonium include coumarins, tannins and essential oils.

Contraindications

The product must not be taken if there is a known hypersensitivity to any of the components, if there is an increased tendency to bleeding and if anticoagulant medication is used, if there is severe liver and kidney disease, or if children are under 1 year of age.During pregnancy and breastfeeding as well as in children under 6 years of age, the medicine may only be used after consulting a doctor.

Dosage

Unless otherwise prescribed, adults and children over 12 years of age take 30 drops three times a day.Children from 6 to 12 years receive 20 drops three times a day, children from 1 to 5 years (after consultation with a doctor) receive 10 drops three times a day.The drops should be taken with a little liquid in the morning, lunch and evening about 30 minutes before meals.The duration of treatment should not exceed 3 weeks.

Intake

It is recommended to continue treatment with Umckaloabo drops for several days after the symptoms of the disease have subsided in order to avoid a relapse.

Patient information

If there is no improvement within a week, if the fever persists for several days, or if shortness of breath or bloody sputum occurs, a doctor should be consulted immediately.Children: There is insufficient experience with the treatment of infants.The medicine should therefore not be used in infants under 1 year of age.Small children under 6 years of age should only be treated after consulting a doctor.Store drug out of reach of children.

Pregnancy

Umckaloabo drops should not be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding as there is no sufficient experience.
