Areas of application

This cream contains hydrocortisone, an active ingredient from the group of adrenal cortex hormones (corticoids), which can be used to treat inflammatory and allergic skin diseases.The cream is used to treat inflammatory, allergic and itchy skin diseases of minor severity, often accompanied by the formation of blisters and crusts, which respond to external treatment with weakly effective corticosteroids.

Mode of action

The active ingredient hydrocortisone is a related substance to cortisone, a hormone that the body produces itself.In the event of injury or inflammation, the body's own defenses go into overdrive.The active ingredient reduces these defense mechanisms, especially when they are excessive, such as in the case of allergies.It has an anti-inflammatory effect and eliminates itching, redness, swelling and pustules on the skin.

Composition

The cream contains the following ingredients: 2.5 mg hydrocortisone as active ingredient as well as the excipients potassium sorbate, glycerol (mono/di/tri) alkanoate (C12-C18), cetyl alcohol, white petroleum jelly, glycerol 85%, glycerol monostearate, propylene glycol, glycerol mono/di(palmitate/stearate), sodium stearate, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate,Butylhydroxytoluene, palmitoyl ascorbic acid and purified water.

Dosage and instructions for use

Children aged 6 and over and adults should apply a sufficient amount of the cream to the affected skin areas 2-3 times a day.Once the clinical picture has improved, a single application per day or every 2-3 days is usually sufficient.The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.Apply the medicine to the affected area of skin and wash your hands thoroughly after use.Avoid contact with mucous membranes, eyes and open skin areas.

You should not use the medicine for longer than 4 weeks without medical advice.Long-term use can cause steroid acne, dilation of small skin vessels, skin color changes and skin thinning.If you forget to use it, continue using it normally at the next scheduled time.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, viral skin infections such as chickenpox or herpes infections, bacterial skin infections such as skin tuberculosis or syphilis, acne, perioral dermatitis, rosacea, fungal skin infections or skin reactions after vaccinations.Children under 6 years of age may only use the medicine after consulting a doctor or under medical supervision.If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Side effects

Only side effects that have so far only occurred in exceptional cases are described for the drug.If you notice any discomfort or change during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Important notes

No prescription is required for this product.Be careful if you have a corticosteroid allergy or an allergy to ascorbic acid.Antioxidants, emulsifiers, solvents and preservatives can cause skin irritation.

Storage

The medicine must be stored away from heat.Once opened, it may be used for a maximum of 6 months and must be stored at room temperature.
