Elderberry tea is a herbal medicine used for catarrhal diseases of the upper respiratory tract.The active ingredient in this product is elderflower.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

Elderberry tea is used for colds.There are no known contraindications.However, there are no sufficient studies on the use of this medicine during pregnancy and breastfeeding or in children under 12 years of age.Therefore, tea infusions made from elderflowers should not be drunk by these people.

Interactions with other agents

To date, there are no known interactions with other medications.

Dosage instructions and method of application

Unless otherwise prescribed, a cup of the tea infusion prepared as follows is drunk 3-5 times a day: boiling water (approx. 150 ml) is poured over 4 filter bags full of elderberry tea and, if necessary, passed through a tea strainer after about 10-15 minutes.

Duration of application

If symptoms last longer than 3 days, shortness of breath, fever or purulent or bloody sputum, a doctor should be consulted.
