Instructions for use for wormwood tea filter bags

Wormwood tea filter bags contain the active ingredient Artemisia absinthium L. This product is available without a prescription.

Areas of application

Wormwood tea filter bags are used for loss of appetite, digestive problems with mild cramps in the gastrointestinal area, feeling of fullness and flatulence.They can also help with cramp-like, functional disorders in the bile duct area.

Dosage and instructions for use

Teens 12 years and older and adults can use 3 tea bags twice daily 30 minutes before a meal or 1 tea bag twice daily after a meal.The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

To use, prepare the tea by pouring boiling water (approx. 150 ml) over a tea bag and letting the infusion steep for about 10 minutes.Then drink the tea straight away.

The duration of use is not limited.However, you should not use the medicine for longer than a week without medical advice if the symptoms do not improve or the symptoms recur regularly.There are no known symptoms of overdose.

Contraindications

The medicine should not be used if you are hypersensitive to the ingredients.Children under 12 years of age should generally not use the medicine.There is no information about its use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.In these cases, seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist.

Composition

The active ingredient in wormwood tea filter bags is wormwood herb, with a content of 600 mg per tea bag.

Mode of action

The ingredients in wormwood tea come from the wormwood plant, a shrub up to 1.5 meters high with silvery, hairy, feathery leaves and yellow flowers.The plant is found in Europe, Western Asia and North America.The main ingredients are essential oils such as thujone and sesquiterpene bitters such as absinthine.The plant parts used are mainly extracts and juice of the dried herb.

The bitter substances and essential oils in wormwood tea lead to an increased release of gastric juice, stimulate the appetite and support digestion.

Important notes

Caution is advised if you are allergic to ascorbic acid (vitamin C), composite plants such as arnica, marigold, yarrow, echinacea and chamomile, spices, essential oils, turpentine oil and phenol (e.g. pyrogallol, triclosan and vanillin).

Storage

The medicine should be protected from moisture and stored in the dark, for example in the outer box.
