Instructions for use of Vitagel eye gel

Vitagel eye gel is an eye medicine containing vitamin A.The active ingredient retinol palmitate is used to support the treatment of atrophic conditions of the cornea and conjunctiva caused by vitamin A deficiency.This includes conditions such as keratomalacia, a disease of the cornea, and xerophthalmia, a drying of the eye's conjunctiva and cornea.It is also used for trophic disorders of the cornea and conjunctiva with mucin deficiency and largely preserved aqueous tear film.

Application

Vitagel eye gel is applied directly to the eye.The standard recommendation is to place a drop in the conjunctival sac three times a day and gently close the eyelids.In special cases, it can also be used hourly.The duration of use is not limited and should be continued until symptoms subside.

Dosage

The usual dosage is one drop spread throughout the day, three times a day.In special cases, the application can be done hourly.It is important not to exceed the recommended dosage without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.When using it, the head should be tilted back, the lower eyelid should be pulled down slightly and the drop should be introduced into the conjunctival sac.After instillation, the eye should be slowly closed and moved slightly so that the drop is distributed well.

Composition

Vitagel eye gel contains the active ingredients retinol palmitate and retinol, each in a dosage of 1000 international units.Excipients include cetrimide, carbomer 13000-30000, medium chain triglycerides, sorbitol, disodium edetate-2 water, peanut oil, butylated hydroxyanisole, butylated hydroxytoluene, DL-α-tocopherol, sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment and water for injections.

Mode of action

Retinol, also known as vitamin A, is a fat-soluble vitamin that plays an important role in visual function, differentiation of certain cells, sperm formation and embryonic development.A deficiency of vitamin A can lead to impaired light-dark adjustment, drying out and keratinization of the conjunctiva of the eyes and mucous membranes, as well as dryness, flaking and wrinkling of the skin.

Storage

Vitagel eye gel must be stored in the refrigerator and protected from frost before opening.Once opened, it can be stored at room temperature and used for a maximum of 4 weeks.It is important to keep the medicine out of the reach of children.

Important notes
