Instructions for use of Maaloxan 25 mVal suspension

Maaloxan 25 mVal Suspension is a non-prescription agent for binding excess stomach acid.The suspension contains the active ingredients algeldrat and magnesium hydroxide, which together neutralize stomach acid and thus relieve pain and discomfort.This product is suitable for the symptomatic treatment of heartburn, acid-related stomach problems and stomach and duodenal ulcers.

Active ingredients and composition

The active ingredients in Maaloxan 25 mVal suspension are algeldrat and magnesium hydroxide.Each 10 ml sachet of suspension contains 230 mg aluminum oxide and 400 mg magnesium hydroxide.In addition, the suspension contains excipients such as methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, citric acid monohydrate, saccharin sodium, mannitol, sorbitol solution, peppermint oil, hydrogen peroxide solution, purified water and hydrochloric acid.

Areas of application

Maaloxan 25 mVal Suspension is used for the symptomatic treatment of diseases in which stomach acid needs to be bound.These include heartburn, acid-related stomach problems, and stomach and duodenal ulcers.

Dosage and application

The usual dosage for adults is 1-2 sachets 1-2 hours after each meal and immediately before bed.The daily dose should not exceed 4-6 sachets.If necessary, the suspension can be taken several times a day.Before taking, the bag should be kneaded vigorously and torn open at the marked point.The contents can either be poured onto a spoon and taken undiluted or emptied directly from the sachet into the mouth.

Warnings and precautions

Maaloxan 25 mVal Suspension must not be used in children under 12 years of age.If stomach problems persist or recur, you should consult a doctor.Other medicines should generally be taken at least two hours before or after taking Maaloxan 25 mVal Suspension.In patients with impaired kidney function, phosphate deficiency or a low-phosphate diet, its use should be discussed with a doctor.

Side effects

Possible side effects of Maaloxan 25 mVal Suspension may include loose stools, diarrhea or constipation.In rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions such as itching, hives or severe allergic reactions may occur.If side effects occur, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted.

Storage

Maaloxan 25 mVal Suspension should be protected from frost and not stored above 25°C.The medicine must not be used after the expiry date stated on the carton and sachet.
