Instructions for use of Micotar ZP Paste

Micotar ZP Paste is an antifungal agent used to treat severe forms of diaper rash in which proven colonization with yeast fungi (Candida spp.) is prominent.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredients in Micotar ZP Paste are miconazole nitrate and zinc oxide.Each gram of the paste contains 20 mg of miconazole nitrate and 200 mg of zinc oxide.The paste also contains the following excipients: white petroleum jelly, macrogol stearate 40, thick paraffin, propylene glycol, glycerol 85%, glycerol monostearate 40-55% and alpha-tocopherol.

Areas of application

Micotar ZP Paste is used to treat severe forms of diaper rash where there is proven colonization with yeast fungi (Candida spp.).The product is suitable for infants, children and adults.

Application and dosage

The paste should be applied to the entire affected area with every diaper change and after every bath.Before use, the skin should be cleansed with lukewarm water and dried carefully.The paste is applied carefully with your fingertips without massaging it.Treatment should be continued for at least a week until all symptoms have disappeared.

If you use more Micotar ZP paste than you should, skin reactions may occur, which usually resolve after stopping therapy.If you accidentally ingest the paste, you should contact your doctor.If you forget to use it, do not use a double dose.Do not stop use abruptly as this may result in a recurrence of the fungal infection.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Micotar ZP Paste can have side effects, although not everyone gets them.Occasionally, hypersensitivity reactions such as skin redness, burning or itching may occur.Systemic side effects from local application are not known.

Warnings and precautions

Micotar ZP Paste must not be used if you are allergic to miconazole nitrate, zinc oxide, related antifungal drugs or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.Contact with eyes should be avoided.If you are taking or using other medicines, tell your doctor or pharmacist, as pastes containing zinc oxide can influence the effectiveness of other active ingredients applied at the same time.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.Miconazole applied to the skin is absorbed into the body to a very small extent.There are no data available as to whether the active ingredient is excreted in breast milk.If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should only use the product after consulting a doctor.Do not use Micotar ZP paste on the breast area while breastfeeding.

Storage

Keep Micotar ZP paste out of the reach of children and do not store the medicine above 25°C.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the tube and carton.After opening the tube for the first time, Micotar ZP Paste has a shelf life of 3 months.
