Rennie® peppermint chewable tablets

Rennie® peppermint chewable tablets are a proven remedy for the symptomatic treatment of diseases in which stomach acid needs to be bound.These include heartburn, acid-related stomach problems, and stomach and duodenal ulcers.The chewable tablets contain sucrose (sugar) and no prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

The chewable tablets are used to relieve acid-related stomach problems.They help with heartburn, acid reflux, stomach pressure and bloating.The active ingredients calcium carbonate and basic magnesium carbonate neutralize excess stomach acid directly in the stomach and thus counteract the symptoms.

Active ingredients and composition

Each chewable tablet contains 680 mg of calcium carbonate and 80 mg of heavy, basic magnesium carbonate as active ingredients.The excipients include sucrose (475 mg), pre-gelatinized corn starch, potato starch, vegetable magnesium stearate, talc, thin paraffin, peppermint flavor and lemon flavor.

Mode of action

The active ingredients bind and neutralize stomach acid.Calcium and magnesium form poorly soluble salts with stomach acid, which are excreted in the stool.This relieves heartburn, belching and other acid-related stomach problems.In addition, the risk of ulcers in the gastrointestinal area is reduced.

Application and dosage

Adults and children over 12 years of age can take one to two chewable tablets up to three times daily as needed.The tablets should be chewed or sucked one hour after meals or before bedtime.The maximum dose of 11 chewable tablets per day should not be exceeded.Continuous use beyond 14 days should be avoided unless otherwise directed.

Special Notes

People with impaired kidney function should only take the tablets in doses as needed to avoid an undesirable increase in mineral salt levels.If symptoms persist or recur, a doctor should be consulted.The tablets are also suitable for pregnant women.
