What is Ringer's infusion solution B. Braun and what is it used for?
Ringer's infusion solution B. Braun is a solution for the intravenous administration of fluid and electrolytes.It is used to replace fluids and electrolytes when the acidity of the blood is too low and the chloride level is simultaneously low, to compensate for chloride losses, to replenish the vascular system for a short time, to correct a lack of fluids when the salt concentration in the blood plasma is normal or too low (isotonic or hypotonic dehydration) and as a carrier solution for suitable electrolyte concentrates and medications.
What do you need to consider before using Ringer infusion solution B. Braun?
Ringer infusion solution B. Braun must not be used if there is too much fluid in your system, you have severe heart disease with shortness of breath and swelling of the feet or legs, you have severe kidney disease and are unable or almost unable to urinate, or you have swelling of the body tissues due to fluid retention.
Particular caution is required when using Ringer's infusion solution B. Braun if there is a lack of fluid and an overall high salt concentration in the blood plasma, increased potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia), increased sodium levels in the blood (hypernatremia), increased chloride levels in the blood (hyperchloremia), impaired kidney function with a tendency to increased potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia), diseases that require restricted sodium intake, such as heart failure, tissue swelling(edema), fluid accumulation in the lungs (pulmonary edema), high blood pressure, pregnancy-related conditions with high blood pressure, cramps and fluid accumulation in the tissues (eclampsia), severe kidney dysfunction or have diseases or are receiving medication that can lead to reduced sodium excretion.Checks of serum electrolytes and water balance are required.
Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or using or have recently taken or used any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.Your doctor knows about the interactions that can occur with a combination of Ringer's infusion solution B. Braun and other medicines.He will be careful to ensure that the infusion you receive is correctly dosed.Some medicines cannot be mixed with Ringer's infusion solution B. Braun.Doctors only add medicines if they are sure that they can be mixed safely with Ringer's infusion solution B. Braun.
Before taking or using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.Caution is advised with eclampsia.

How should Ringer infusion solution B. Braun be used?
This medicine will be given to you by a doctor or healthcare professional.You will receive this medicine as a drip into your veins (intravenous infusion).Your doctor will determine the right dose for you.Your daily dose depends on your fluid and electrolyte needs.The maximum daily dose is up to 40 ml per kg body weight per day, corresponding to 5.88 mmol sodium per kg body weight and 0.16 mmol potassium per kg body weight per day. The maximum infusion and drip rate depends on your clinical condition and will normally not exceed the following values: 5 ml per kg body weight per hour or 1.7 drops per kg body weight per minute.Your doctor will determine the length of time this solution will be given to you.While you are receiving the infusion, your fluid and salt levels, your acid-base balance and your blood sugar will be checked.
Accidental overdose can lead to overhydration with increased skin tension, venous congestion, tissue swelling (edema), and possibly also water in the lungs (pulmonary edema) and shortness of breath.Disturbances in the electrolyte balance, increased salt concentration in the blood (hyperosmolarity) and excessive acidification of the blood (metabolic acidosis) can occur.The treating doctor decides on countermeasures.Countermeasures can include: interrupting the intake, administering diuretics while constantly monitoring the electrolyte balance, correcting electrolyte disorders and acid-base balance disorders.

What side effects are possible?
Like all medicines, Ringer's infusion solution B. Braun can have side effects, although not everyone gets them.When used, increased chloride levels in the blood (hyperchloremia) may occur.Rare: fever reactions caused by the method of administration, infection at the injection site, local pain or reaction, vein irritation, blood clots in the veins, phlebitis originating from the injection site.

How should Ringer's infusion solution B. Braun be stored?
Keep medicines out of the reach of children.You may no longer use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the container and the outer carton after “Use by:”.The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.For microbiological reasons, mixtures should be used immediately.If not used immediately, storage times and conditions are the responsibility of the user.Normally, mixtures with other components should not be stored for longer than 24 hours at 2°C - 8°C unless prepared under controlled and validated aseptic conditions.This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.To be used only if the container is intact and the solution is clear.Any infusion solution that is not used after one application should be discarded.
