Instructions for use of Kalinor effervescent tablets
Kalinor effervescent tablets are a mineral potassium preparation that is used to normalize potassium balance and prevent kidney stones.The active ingredient potassium citrate is present in the effervescent tablet as potassium citrate, potassium hydrogen carbonate and citric acid.The ready-to-drink solution contains 40.0 mmol of potassium ions, equivalent to 1.56 g of potassium, and at least 13.3 mmol of citrate ions, equivalent to 2.5 g of citrate.

Areas of application
Kalinor effervescent tablets are used for potassium replacement in severe hypokalemia, potassium deficiency-related disorders of nerve and muscle activity or cardiac arrhythmias, as well as to avoid a reduction in blood potassium concentration in ketoacidosis.They also serve to prevent the formation of kidney stones again in the case of calcium stones, insufficient citrate excretion or uric acid stones.
Contraindications
Kalinor effervescent tablets must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or other ingredients, in diseases that are often associated with hyperkalemia, such as dehydration, impaired excretory kidney function, Addison's disease or adynamia episodica hereditaria.The tablets should also not be taken in rare cases of inherited fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency.
Side effects
Possible side effects include nausea, vomiting, belching, heartburn, flatulence, abdominal pain and diarrhea.Very rarely, allergic reactions such as itchy skin or facial swelling may occur.If side effects occur, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.
Application and dosage
Kalinor effervescent tablets are taken after dissolving them in a glass of water.The usual dose is 1 to 3 effervescent tablets daily, depending on the respective indication.The single dose should not be more than 40 mmol potassium.Taking it with a meal improves tolerance.A daily dose of 2 or more effervescent tablets should be taken throughout the day.
Storage
Keep the medicine out of the reach and reach of children and do not use it after the expiry date stated on the label.The ready-to-drink solution should be taken immediately after dissolving the effervescent tablet.Store the tablets in the original packaging and keep the container tightly closed to protect the contents from moisture.
Composition
The active ingredients in Kalinor effervescent tablets are potassium citrate, potassium hydrogen carbonate and citric acid.The other ingredients are glucose syrup, macrogol 6000, saccharin, sucrose and lemon flavor.One effervescent tablet contains 1.42 g sucrose and glucose, corresponding to approx. 0.12 bread units (BE).
