Gelum® drops

Gelum® drops contain a special complex that binds the digestive toxin ammonia during intestinal transit.Ammonia is produced as a byproduct of the breakdown of protein in the intestines.Since it is a cell toxin, it is mainly converted into urea by the liver to be excreted via the kidneys.By binding ammonia, Gelum® drops relieve the liver so that it has more energy available for other metabolic processes.

Areas of application

Gelum® drops are used for liver cirrhosis (chronic liver disease) with minimal hepatic encephalopathy.These are brain dysfunctions caused by inadequate detoxification function of the liver.

Application

Adults take 2 ml of the drops, diluted with a little water, three times a day before meals.You can then rinse with more liquid.Milk and hot liquids such as coffee or tea are not suitable for diluting.

Notes

Gelum® drops should not be used if there is a known allergy or intolerance to one or more components of the product.

The effectiveness of some medicines can be impaired by interactions with iron compounds.In such cases, an interval of around two hours should be observed between taking the Gelum® drops.

Keep this product out of the reach of children.

Side effects/accompanying symptoms

In rare cases, slight discomfort in the gastrointestinal area may occur.

It is possible that you are hypersensitive or allergic to any of the ingredients.This can manifest itself, for example, in the form of a skin rash, itching, swelling of mucous membranes or increased sweating.In such a very rare case you should stop using Gelum® drops.

If you notice any side effects that are not listed in these instructions for use, please report them to your therapist or pharmacist.

In the event of a significant overdose, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and fever may occur.If you suspect an overdose, please contact a doctor immediately.

If you forget one or more doses, please continue taking it according to the dosage instructions without taking the forgotten drops.

Dark discoloration of the stool that occurs during treatment is normal and is due to the iron content of Gelum® drops.

In very rare cases, teeth or tongue may become dark after use.This iron deposit forms in the mouth and disappears after a short time with normal oral care.To prevent this discoloration, some liquid should be rinsed after each intake of Gelum® drops.

The expiry date of this pack is printed on the outer carton and on the label.Please do not use this pack after this date.

After opening the container, the contents should be consumed continuously.

Storage should be at room temperature (between 15°C and 30°C).

Ingredients

100 g of Gelum® drops contain 30.0 g of an aqueous solution of the potassium iron (III) phosphate citrate complex (KEPC), 3.0 g of L(+)-lactic acid (dextrorotatory lactic acid) and 0.1 g of potassium sorbate.

Gelum® drops do not contain alcohol.
