What is Dynexan oral gel and what is it used for?

Dynexan Mundgel is a pain-relieving gel based on lidocaine hydrochloride.It is used for the temporary, symptomatic treatment of pain in the oral mucosa, gums and lips.No prescription is required for this product.

How to use Dynexan oral gel?

Dynexan Mundgel is a gel that is used directly in the oral cavity.Adults should apply a pea-sized piece of the gel to the painful areas 4 to 8 times a day and massage in gently.The total dose of lidocaine should not exceed 40 mg.If you have pain caused by dentures or braces, the gel can be applied thinly to the affected areas.When used by a dentist, the gel is inserted into the alveoli and gum pockets using a special cannula.

Children, toddlers and infants should use a pea-sized piece of the gel a maximum of 4 times per day.The dosage should be adjusted individually taking into account age and weight.

If the symptoms do not improve within a week or if unclear symptoms occur, a dentist or doctor should be consulted.

Composition

1 Gram of the gel contains lidocaine hydrochloride 1 H2O in an amount of 20 mg as the medicinally active ingredient.

Other ingredients include benzalkonium chloride, bitter fennel oil, glycerol, guar galactomannan, mint oil, thick paraffin, peppermint oil, saccharin sodium, colloidal silicon dioxide, star anise oil, thymol, titanium dioxide, white petroleum jelly and purified water.

How should Dynexan oral gel be stored?

Dynexan oral gel should be kept out of the reach of children.The expiry date is printed on the container and folding box.After this date the product should no longer be used.The cylinder ampoules should be protected from light and not stored above 25 °C.Once opened, the gel should be used within 3 months.

The medicine should not be used for longer than 1 week without medical advice.If symptoms persist for a long time, a doctor should be consulted.

Contraindications

Dynexan Mundgel must not be used if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients or to other local painkillers (local anesthetics) of the acid amide type.The drug should be used with caution in cases of severe disorders of the cardiac stimulus formation and conduction system, acute decompensated heart failure and severe kidney and liver diseases.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the medicine should only be used after consulting a doctor.

Mode of action

The active ingredient lidocaine provides local anesthesia.The substance prevents the nerves from transmitting stimuli, thereby making you insensitive to pain and numbing itching.

Important notes

Caution is advised if you are allergic to local anesthetics (local anesthetics), allergic to spices such as anise, mugwort, dill, fennel, carrot, coriander, caraway, pepper, parsley, celery and tomatoes, and allergic to the sweetener saccharin.Preservatives such as benzalkonium chloride can cause skin irritation.
