Iron sulfate Lomapharm 100 mg film-coated tablets
Iron sulfate Lomapharm 100 mg film-coated tablets contain the active ingredient iron (II) sulfate and are intended for the treatment of iron deficiency conditions.No prescription is required for this product.
Areas of application
The medicine is used to treat iron deficiency.Iron is one of the vital trace elements and is involved in many metabolic processes in the body.Iron is important, for example, for the formation of red blood cells.
Dosage and instructions for use
Adults take 1 film-coated tablet twice a day, in the morning and in the evening, about an hour before a meal.The tablets should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid, such as a glass of water.
The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.The duration of use depends on the type of symptoms and/or the course of the disease and should be determined in consultation with a doctor.
Various symptoms may occur in the event of an overdose, including nausea, bloody vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhea, drowsiness and circulatory collapse.Small children are particularly at risk.If an overdose is suspected, a doctor should be contacted immediately.
If a dose is missed, the next dose should be taken as usual without taking the missed dose.Particular attention should be paid to careful dosage for infants, small children and the elderly.
Contraindications
The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to the ingredients, if you have anemia with iron utilization disorders such as sideroachrestic anemia, thalassemia or lead anemia, if you have hemochromatosis (iron overload) and if you have hemolytic anemia.
Caution is advised in the case of inflammation of the gastric mucosa, ulcers in the digestive tract and inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease.Children and adolescents under the age of 18 should generally not use the medicine.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the medicine should only be taken after consulting a doctor.
Side effects
Possible side effects include gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea and constipation.In addition, the stool may turn harmless black.
If you experience any discomfort or changes during treatment, you should consult a doctor or pharmacist.
Composition
Each film-coated tablet contains 302.237-309.106 mg iron (II) sulfate, dried, and 100 mg iron (II) ion.The following excipients are included: maltodextrin, calcium (palmitate, stearate), lactose-1 water, copovidone, macrogol 4000, talc, calcium carbonate, cocoa butter, magnesium stearate (vegetable), shellac, titanium dioxide, cellulose powder, corn starch, carboxymethyl starch, sodium type A, sodium dodecyl sulfate, sucrose, povidone K25 and iron oxides and hydroxides.
Important notes
Caution is advised if you are allergic to polyethylene glycol, talc, cocoa, spices, essential oils and turpentine oil.There may be medicines with which interactions occur.Coffee, cola drinks, mate tea and green and black tea should be avoided during treatment.
Milk and dairy products, mineral water, calcium-fortified drinks and mineral supplements should be avoided within 2 hours before and 4 hours after consumption.
Storage
The medicine must be stored away from heat.
