Area of application

Spalt Plus Caffeine N is a non-prescription medicine that is used for acute, mild to moderate pain.It is suitable for adults and teenagers aged 14 and over.The active ingredients acetylsalicylic acid and paracetamol belong to the group of analgesics-antipyretics, i.e. pain inhibitors and fever reducers.Caffeine supports the effect of the two main active ingredients and accelerates the onset of action.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each Spalt Plus Caffeine N tablet contains 250 mg acetylsalicylic acid, 200 mg paracetamol and 50 mg caffeine as active ingredients.The preparation also contains the excipients aluminum oxide, microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch and hydrogenated castor oil.

Dosage and application

The usual dose for adults and teenagers aged 14 years and over is 1 to 2 tablets, taken up to 3 times a day.The tablets should be taken either after disintegrating in a little liquid or without chewing with plenty of liquid.It is important not to take the tablets on an empty stomach.The maximum dose of 6 tablets per day should not be exceeded.The medicine should not be taken for longer than 3 days without medical or dental advice.

Contraindications

Spalt Plus Caffeine N must not be taken if there is hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients.It is also not advisable to take it if you have chronic and recurring stomach or duodenal problems, as well as ulcers in the digestive tract or an increased tendency to bleed.If you have severe liver or kidney dysfunction, cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, anxiety, impaired kidney or liver function, Gilbert's syndrome, a tendency to gout attacks, hyperthyroidism, alcohol abuse or upcoming operations, you should speak to a doctor or pharmacist before taking it.Children under 14 years of age must not use the medicine.During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the medicine should only be taken after consulting a doctor.

Side effects

Possible side effects include gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, heartburn and abdominal pain.Headaches, dizziness, drowsiness, insomnia, nervousness, tinnitus, visual disturbances, skin hypersensitivity reactions and increased pulse rate can also occur.If you experience any discomfort or changes during treatment, you should consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Storage

The medicine should be protected from heat and kept out of the reach of children.It must not be used after the expiry date stated on the carton or container.The storage temperature should not be above 25°C.
