Kräuterlax herbal dragees for laxatives is a herbal laxative that is used for short-term use in cases of constipation.The active ingredient in this preparation is aloe dry extract.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredient and ingredients

Each coated tablet contains 41.25 - 52.5 mg of aloe dry extract, equivalent to 15 mg of hydroxyanthracene derivatives.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: lactose, colloidal silicon dioxide, cellulose powder, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, corn starch, copovidone, carmellose sodium, carnauba wax and the dye E171.

Dosage and application

Adults and children over 12 years of age should take 1-2 coated tablets once daily.The tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid after dinner.The effect usually occurs after 8-12 hours.The maximum daily intake should not be more than 30 mg of hydroxyanthracene derivatives, which corresponds to 2 coated tablets.

Stimulant laxatives should not be taken for a long period of time (more than 1-2 weeks) without medical advice.If you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Contraindications

Kräuterlax herbal tablets for laxatives must not be taken if you are allergic to aloe or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.The preparation must also not be used in cases of intestinal obstruction, narrowing of the intestine, relaxation of the intestinal muscles, appendicitis, chronic inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, abdominal pain of unknown cause or severe dehydration with water and salt losses.Children under 12 years of age are not allowed to take the product.

Side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.Very rarely, cramp-like gastrointestinal complaints, hypersensitivity reactions such as itching, hives or swelling of the skin and mucous membranes can occur.During the course of treatment, a harmless red color of the urine may occur.

With long-term use or higher doses, water and salt balance disorders can occur, which can lead to potassium losses.This can lead to cardiac dysfunction and muscle weakness, particularly if cardiac glycosides, diuretics and cortisone or cortisone-like substances are taken at the same time.

Storage

Keep the medicine out of the reach of children and do not store it above 30°C.The container should be stored in the outer box to protect the contents from moisture.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton.
