Areas of application

Cetirizine dihydrochloride is the active ingredient in Cetirizin-ratiopharm® juice.Cetirizin-ratiopharm® juice is an anti-allergic drug.In adults and children from the age of 2 years, Cetirizin-ratiopharm® juice is indicated for the relief of nasal and eye symptoms in seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis as well as for the relief of chronic hives (chronic idiopathic urticaria).

Cetirizin-ratiopharm® juice contains the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride.10 ml of the solution contains 10 mg of cetirizine dihydrochloride.The other ingredients are sorbitol solution 70% (crystallizing), glycerol, propylene glycol, sodium acetate, methyl (4-hydroxybenzoate), propyl (4-hydroxybenzoate), saccharin sodium, acetic acid 99%, flavoring (banana) and purified water.

Contraindications

Cetirizine ratiopharm® juice must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride, any of the other ingredients, to hydroxyzine or other piperazine derivatives.The medicine should also not be taken if you have severe kidney disease with a creatinine clearance below 10 ml/min.If you have a rare hereditary fructose intolerance, Cetirizin-ratiopharm® juice should also not be used.

Dosage

Cetirizin-ratiopharm® juice should always be taken exactly as described or after consultation with your doctor or pharmacist.Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age take 10 ml of the solution once daily.Children between 6 and 12 years old take 5 ml of the solution twice a day.Children between 2 and 6 years old take 2.5 ml of the solution twice a day.Patients with moderate kidney failure take 5 ml of the solution once a day.The duration of use is determined by your doctor.

Intake

The solution can be taken undiluted.Please use the enclosed measuring cup for dosage.

Patient information

If you have impaired kidney function, you should speak to your doctor as a lower dose may be required.If you have epilepsy or are at risk of seizures, you should also consult your doctor before taking it.Cetirizin-ratiopharm® juice can affect the result of an allergy test, so you should stop taking it a few days before such a test.Concomitant consumption of alcohol should be avoided.

Pregnancy

Taking Cetirizin-ratiopharm® juice should be avoided by pregnant women.If accidental ingestion occurs, the medicine should no longer be taken.Cetirizine ratiopharm® juice should not be taken while breastfeeding, as cetirizine passes into breast milk.
