Calcium-Sandoz D Osteo effervescent tablets are used to prevent and treat calcium and vitamin D deficiencies.Calcium is an important building block for bones and teeth.From around the age of 35, a natural age-related bone loss process begins, which can be increased in later years by hormonal changes.By taking these effervescent tablets you can specifically counteract this process.If osteoporosis has already manifested itself, the effervescent tablets can also be taken as part of a specific therapy to treat this disease.

Sodium cyclamate, citric acid, anhydrous, D,L-[alpha]-tocopherol, gelatin, sodium bicarbonate, D,L-malic acid, maltodextrin, sodium saccharin, lemon flavor, soybean oil, partially hydrogenated, corn starch, sucrose, sodium carbonate.

The effervescent tablets contain a total of 52 mg sodium ions and 0.003 BE carbohydrates per tablet.

Contraindications

The medicine should not be taken if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients or soy and peanut products.The drug must also not be used in disease states that lead to hypercalcemia and/or hypercalciuria, kidney stones, calcium salt deposits in the kidneys, primary hyperparathyroidism, vitamin D overdoses, myeloma and bone metastases.Children should not take the medicine.Pregnant women should avoid use or only take the product after consulting a doctor.

Dosage

Adults take 1-2 effervescent tablets daily, dissolved in a glass of water (200 ml).This corresponds to 600-1200 mg calcium and 400-800 IU vitamin D3.The medicine is not intended for use in children.During long-term use, serum calcium levels and renal function should be monitored.

Intake

The effervescent tablet is dissolved in a glass of water and drunk immediately.You should take the medicine in the morning and evening.

Patient information

During long-term treatment, serum calcium levels and renal function should be checked regularly.This is particularly important in elderly patients and during simultaneous treatment with cardiac glycosides and diuretics.The dose should be reduced or therapy interrupted if urinary calcium excretion exceeds 7.5 mmol/24 hours.Before taking it, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist if you suffer from kidney stones, have an immune system disorder, have limited mobility, are taking other vitamin D3 or calcium-containing preparations at the same time or suffer from kidney dysfunction.

Pregnancy

The medicine can be used during pregnancy, but the daily intake should not exceed 1,500 mg calcium and 600 IU vitamin D.Pregnant women should therefore not take more than one effervescent tablet daily.Higher doses may be harmful to the unborn child.The medicine can be used during breastfeeding, but you must first consult your doctor whether your child is already receiving products that contain vitamin D3.Pregnant and breastfeeding women should take the medicine two hours before or after meals to avoid possible interference with iron absorption.
