Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredients of Calcium Verla D 400 are calcium carbonate and colecalciferol (vitamin D3).One effervescent tablet contains 1500 mg calcium carbonate, equivalent to 600 mg calcium, and 10 µg colecalciferol, equivalent to 400 IU vitamin D3.

The other ingredients are alpha-tocopherol (Ph.Eur.), hydrogenated soybean oil (Ph.Eur.), corn starch, sucrose, gelatin, sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, citric acid, malic acid, sodium cyclamate, maltodextrin, saccharin sodium and lemon flavor.Calcium Verla D 400 contains no gluten and no lactose.

Dosage and application

Adults should take one effervescent tablet twice daily, morning and evening.Dissolve the effervescent tablet in a glass of water and drink the contents immediately.The duration of use is determined by the doctor.Do not exceed the recommended dosage without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

If you take more than you should, you may experience nausea, vomiting, abnormal thirst or constipation.If you suspect an overdose, please contact your doctor immediately.If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose, but continue taking it as usual the next day.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Calcium Verla D 400 can have side effects, although not everyone gets them.Possible side effects include constipation, flatulence, nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, increased calcium excretion in the urine and increased calcium concentration in the blood.Soybean oil can very rarely cause allergic reactions.

Contraindications

Calcium Verla D 400 must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to calcium carbonate, colecalciferol (vitamin D3), soy, peanut or any of the other ingredients.The preparation should also not be used in cases of increased calcium concentrations in the blood, increased calcium excretion in the urine, kidney limestones, tissue calcification, impaired kidney function, hyperactive parathyroid gland, vitamin D overdose, multiple bone marrow tumor, bone metastases, immobilization of limbs or certain lung diseases.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Calcium Verla D 400 should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to the high dosage of vitamin D3.Overdoses of vitamin D must be avoided during pregnancy, as long-term elevated calcium levels in the blood can lead to physical deformities and mental retardation in the child.Vitamin D and its metabolites are excreted in breast milk.

Storage

Keep the medicine out of the reach and reach of children and do not use it after the expiry date stated on the carton and the bottom of the tube.The tube should be tightly closed after tablet removal.Store the medicine in a dry place and not above 25°C.
