One effervescent tablet of Calcium-Sandoz D Osteo contains the following active ingredients: 1500 mg calcium carbonate (equivalent to 600.65 mg calcium) and 0.01 mg colecalciferol/vitamin D3 (equivalent to 400 IU).The other ingredients include sodium cyclamate, citric acid, D,L-[alpha]-tocopherol, gelatin, sodium bicarbonate, D,L-malic acid, maltodextrin, sodium saccharin, lemon flavor, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, corn starch, sucrose and sodium carbonate.Calcium-Sandoz D Osteo contains a total of 52 mg sodium ions and 0.003 BE carbohydrates per tablet.

Contraindications

Calcium-Sandoz D Osteo must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients or have soy or peanut allergies.Its use is also not suitable for disease states that lead to hypercalcemia and/or hypercalciuria, kidney stones, nephrocalcinosis, primary hyperparathyroidism, vitamin D overdoses, myeloma and bone metastases.The product is not intended for children.Pregnant women should only take the medication after consulting a doctor, although a daily dose of 1500 mg calcium and 600 IU vitamin D must not be exceeded.

Dosage

Adults take 1-2 effervescent tablets daily, dissolved in a glass of water (200 ml).This corresponds to a dose of 600-1200 mg calcium and 400-800 IU vitamin D3.Calcium-Sandoz D Osteo is not intended for use in children.During long-term use, serum calcium levels and renal function should be monitored.

Intake

The effervescent tablet is dissolved in a glass of water and drunk immediately.You should take the medicine in the morning and evening.

Patient information

During long-term treatment, serum calcium levels and renal function should be checked regularly.This is particularly important in elderly patients and during simultaneous treatment with cardiac glycosides and diuretics.Before taking the medicine, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist if you suffer from kidney stones, an immune system disorder (sarcoidosis), have limited mobility or are taking other vitamin D3 or calcium-containing preparations at the same time.

Pregnancy

Before taking any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.The medicine can be used during pregnancy, but the daily intake should not exceed 1,500 mg calcium and 600 IU vitamin D.Pregnant women should therefore not take more than one effervescent tablet daily.The medicine can be used during breastfeeding, but you must first consult your doctor whether your child is already receiving products that contain vitamin D3.Pregnant and breastfeeding women should take the medicine two hours before or after meals to avoid possible interference with iron absorption.
