Areas of application

Advantix Spot-on Solution is a treatment and prevention agent for flea infestations in dogs.It is effective against fleas of the species Ctenocephalides felis and Ctenocephalides canis.The fleas on the dog are killed within a day after treatment.A single application provides four weeks of protection against new flea infestations.The agent can also be used as part of a strategy to treat flea allergic dermatitis (FAD).

Additionally, Advantix Spot-on treats lice infestations caused by Trichodectes canis.It has a sustained killing and repellent effect against various species of ticks, including Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes ricinus for four weeks and Dermacentor reticulatus for three weeks.The defensive effect and killing of the vector tick Rhipicephalus sanguineus reduces the likelihood of transmission of the pathogen Ehrlichia canis, which reduces the risk of monocytic Ehrlichiosis in dogs.This reduced risk has been demonstrated by studies starting from the third day after use over a period of four weeks.

It is possible that ticks already present on the dog at the time of treatment may not be killed within two days of treatment and may remain attached and visible.Therefore, the ticks should be removed at the time of treatment to prevent attachment and bloodsucking.A single application provides a repellent effect against butterfly midges (Phlebotomus papatasi for two weeks and Phlebotomus perniciosus for three weeks), mosquitoes (Aedes aegypti for two weeks and Culex pipiens for four weeks) and biting flies (Stomoxys calcitrans for four weeks).To reduce the risk of infection by the pathogen Leishmania infantum, transmitted by sand flies (Phlebotomus perniciosus), over a period of up to three weeks.This effect is due to the indirect action of the agent against the vector.

Product features

Advantix Spot-on protects your dog in many ways.It repels ticks, sand flies, mosquitoes and biting flies and kills ticks, fleas and lice.The product is also effective against riparian ticks and remains effective even after bathing and swimming.It is available in five sizes for all dogs and can also be used on lactating and pregnant dogs.It is suitable for puppies from the seventh week and from a body weight of 1.5 kg.

Application

For dogs over 10 kg body weight, the entire contents of an Advantix pipette should be distributed evenly to four points across the dog's back line, from the shoulder to the base of the tail.Place the tip of the pipette on the skin at each of these points and press gently to drip some of the solution directly onto the skin.To avoid solution running down the animal's side, the amount of solution administered per application site should not be too large.
