What is Klimadynon and what is it used for?

Klimadynon is a herbal medicine used to relieve menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, excessive sweating and sleep disorders.The active ingredient is a dry extract from the rhizome of black cohosh (Cimicifuga racemosa).

Dosage and instructions for use

The usual dose for women during menopause is 1 film-coated tablet twice a day, morning and evening.The film-coated tablets are swallowed whole with a little liquid.The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.You should not use the medicine for longer than 6 months without medical advice.

Contraindications

Klimadynon should not be used if you are hypersensitive to the ingredients or if you have estrogen-dependent tumors.If you have impaired liver function, the medicine should only be taken after consulting a doctor.The medicine is not intended for children and adolescents.Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Side effects

Possible side effects can include gastrointestinal complaints such as diarrhea, skin hypersensitivity reactions such as rash, itching and hives, facial swelling, water retention (edema) and weight gain.If you feel unwell or change during treatment, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Composition

The active ingredient is 2.8 mg dry extract from Cimicifuga rhizome (Cimicifuga racemosa (L.) Nutt., rhizoma) (5-10:1), extractant: ethanol 58% (V/V).The other ingredients are calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, ammonium methacrylate copolymer (type A), iron (III) hydroxide oxide x H2O, iron (III) oxide, lactose monohydrate, macrogol 6000, magnesium stearate, potato starch, talc, sodium hydroxide, sorbic acid and titanium dioxide.

Mode of action

The ingredients of Klimadynon come from the black cohosh plant and act as a natural mixture.Black cohosh root extracts influence the effects of female hormones, especially estrogen, and are therefore used for menopausal symptoms.

Important notes

Caution is advised if you are intolerance to lactose.If you have to follow a diabetes diet, you should consider the sugar content.There may be medicines with which interactions occur.You should therefore generally tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting treatment with a new medicine that you are already using.

Storage

Klimadynon should not be stored above 30 °C and should be kept out of the reach of children.Keep the blisters in the outer carton and do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the outer carton.Never dispose of medicines via wastewater.Ask your pharmacy how to throw away medicine when you no longer use it.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking the drug in patients with previously damaged liver.The preparation should not be taken at the same time as estrogens without consulting a doctor.Patients who have been or are being treated for breast cancer or other hormone-dependent tumors should not take the medicine without consulting their doctor.

Pregnancy

The safety of use during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been proven.The use of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended due to insufficient research.Women of childbearing potential should use effective contraception during treatment.
