Cetirizine AL 10 mg film-coated tablets contain the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride.This medication is indicated for the relief of nasal and ocular symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and for the relief of chronic hives (chronic idiopathic urticaria) in adults and children 6 years of age and older.No prescription is required for this product.

Mode of action

Cetirizine dihydrochloride is one of the active ingredients that inhibit the effects of histamine.Histamine is a chemical messenger that is released during allergic reactions and causes symptoms such as itching, burning, runny nose and sneezing attacks.Cetirizine AL acts systemically throughout the body and can relieve various allergic reactions.

Ingredients

The film-coated tablets contain the following ingredients:

Active ingredient: cetirizine dihydrochloride 10 mg, cetirizine 8.42 mg.

Tablet core: Microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.), highly dispersed silicon dioxide.

Film coating: hypromellose, macrogol 400, titanium oxide (E171).

Dosage and application

Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over take a 10 mg dose daily.Children aged 6 to 12 years take half a tablet daily in the morning and evening.People with known kidney weakness should only take half a tablet daily.The tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of liquid.

Contraindications

Cetirizine AL 10 mg film-coated tablets should not be taken if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, have severe kidney dysfunction or are allergic to cetirizine dihydrochloride, hydroxyzine or other piperazine derivatives.

Side effects

Warnings
