Cetirizine AL 10 mg film-coated tablets contain the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride.This medication is indicated for the relief of nasal and ocular symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and for the relief of chronic hives (chronic idiopathic urticaria) in adults and children 6 years of age and older.No prescription is required for this product.

Cetirizine AL 10 mg film-coated tablets contain lactose.Please note that this product is not suitable for children under 6 years.If you have known allergies to any of the ingredients, the medication should not be taken.

Mode of action

Cetirizine dihydrochloride is one of the active ingredients that inhibit the effects of histamine.Histamine is a chemical messenger that is released during allergic reactions and causes symptoms such as itching, burning, runny nose and sneezing attacks.Cetirizine AL acts systemically throughout the body and relieves various allergic reactions.

Cetirizine AL 10 mg film-coated tablets are suitable for the relief of nasal and eye symptoms in seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and for the relief of chronic hives (chronic idiopathic urticaria) in adults and children aged 6 years and over.

Dosage and application

Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over take one film-coated tablet daily.Children aged 6 to 12 years take half a tablet each morning and evening.The tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of liquid.In case of kidney dysfunction, the dose should be limited to half a tablet daily.

Side effects

Possible side effects include gastrointestinal complaints, headaches, dizziness, tiredness, sleepiness, restlessness and dry mouth.If you notice any discomfort or change during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Composition

Cetirizine AL 10 mg film-coated tablets contain the following ingredients:

Active ingredient: cetirizine dihydrochloride 10 mg, cetirizine 8.42 mg

Excipients:

Tablet core: Microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.), highly dispersed silicon dioxide

Film coating: hypromellose, macrogol 400, titanium oxide (E171)

Warnings

Cetirizine dihydrochloride can increase the effects of alcohol.Therefore, caution is advised when consuming alcohol at the same time.With long-term treatment, increased tooth decay can develop due to dry mouth.It is therefore important to pay particular attention to oral hygiene.

When driving a car, working without a secure hold or operating machines, the specified dose should not be exceeded and the individual reaction to the medication should be awaited.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.Taking the drug should be avoided by pregnant women.Cetirizine passes into breast milk.Therefore, until you have consulted your doctor, you should not take the product while breastfeeding.

Instructions for taking
