Instructions for use of blood root tea

Blood root tea is a herbal gastrointestinal remedy and is also used to treat mild inflammation of the mucous membranes in the mouth and throat.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

Blood root tea is used for acute diarrhea and mild inflammation of the mucous membranes in the mouth and throat.The tormentil root from which the tea is made contains natural tannins that have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects.The tea has a pleasant smell and can be used both internally and externally.It is used externally for compresses or partial baths against skin rashes, minor burns and injuries that heal poorly.

Contraindications

There are no specific contraindications known.However, diarrhea in infants and small children should always be excluded from self-treatment and clarified by a doctor.

Interactions with other agents

To date, there are no known interactions with other medications.

Dosage instructions and method of application

Unless otherwise prescribed, the tea is drunk 2 to 3 times a day for diarrhea.For mouth and throat infections, you can rinse or gargle with a lukewarm tea infusion.To prepare the tea infusion, pour boiling water (approx. 150 ml) over about 1/2 teaspoon full (approx. 2 g) of blood root tea and, if necessary, strain it through a tea strainer after about 10 to 15 minutes.

Duration of application

If you have diarrhea that lasts longer than 2 days or is accompanied by blood or fever, you should consult a doctor.
