Instructions for use of the article NATRIUMHYDROGENCARB 8.4%: This article contains information on the composition, indications, contraindications, side effects and dosage instructions of the infusion solution. Composition: - 1 ampoule of 20 ml contains 1.68 g sodium hydrogen carbonate. - Other ingredients: Edetic acid, disodium salt 2 H20, water for injections. Indications: - Metabolic acidosis - Alkalinisation in barbiturate and salicylate poisoning. Contraindications: - Alkalosis - hypernatremia - hypokalaemia Side effects: - No side effects known if contraindications and indications are observed. Interactions: - Do not use together with calcium and magnesium containing solutions. - Do not mix with phosphate-containing solutions Dosage instructions: - Continuous drip to a maximum of 25 drops/minute. - Maximum 1 ampoule in 16 minutes - Maximum 100 ml/day, corresponding to 5 ampoules - Observe acid-base balance - Sodium hydrogen carbonate solution 8.4% can be infused undiluted or diluted.
