VISMED® light eye drops

VISMED® light eye drops are a wetting solution that can help with dryness, burning, tingling or tearing of the eyes.These complaints can be caused by various environmental factors such as ozone, fine dust, heating air, air conditioning, drafts, smoking or long periods of computer work.

Mode of action

The active ingredient in VISMED® light eye drops is hyaluronic acid (0.1%), which occurs naturally in many human tissues, including the vitreous humor of the eyes and the tear film.Hyaluronic acid has a high water-binding capacity and is therefore ideal as a humectant.By dripping the solution into the eyes, any missing moisture is specifically replaced.The hyaluronic acid binds this moisture and gives it the necessary stability to remain on the surface of the eye.This prevents rapid drainage and protects sensitive structures in the eye.

1 ml solution of the VISMED® light eye drops contains 1.0 mg hyaluronic acid sodium salt as an active ingredient.The other ingredients are sodium chloride, disodium hydrogen phosphate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate, water for injections, disodium edetate and polyhexanide.

Area of application

VISMED® light eye drops can be used to lubricate the eyes in the event of subjectively perceived dryness, burning and tired eyes as well as other minor complaints that are not of any illness.No prescription is required for this product.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, this product should not be used.

Dosage

Unless otherwise recommended, add 1-2 drops of the VISMED® light eye drops into the conjunctival sac of the eye as needed.By blinking, the solution is distributed evenly throughout the eye.The eye drops can be easily removed from the bottle with gentle finger pressure and can also be used while wearing hard or soft contact lenses.

Notes

All products in the VISMED® family can be used together with all types of contact lenses.The contact lenses can remain in the eye while the solution is instilled. VISMED® light eye drops have a shelf life of three months after opening.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that occurs in humans wherever moisture needs to be stored.Examples of this are the vitreous humor of the eye and the tear film.Hyaluronic acid can absorb and store moisture in large quantities and can be a placeholder, lubricant and also a transport medium for nutrients.With their special physical and chemical properties, hyaluronic acid solutions are similar to natural tears.They are therefore often used in ophthalmology to treat dry eyes.
