Vidisic eye gel is a gel-shaped tear substitute that is used for dry eyes (synthetic tears).It is used to replace tear fluid in the event of impaired tear production and for the symptomatic treatment of dry eye.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The eye gel contains 2 mg of carbomer 980 per gram as the active ingredient.Excipients include cetrimide, sodium hydroxide, sorbitol and water for injections.Cetrimide acts as a preservative.

Area of application

Vidisic eye gel is used for dry eyes to replace tears and relieve symptoms.It is particularly suitable for long-term and continuous therapy for impaired tear production.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be used if you are allergic to carbomer or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Dosage

The recommended dose, depending on the severity and severity of the symptoms, is 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 3 to 5 times a day or more often, and about 30 minutes before going to bed.Dry eye therapy requires individual dosage.

The preparation is suitable for long-term therapy.When treating dry eye, which is usually long-term and continuous therapy, an ophthalmologist should be consulted.

There are no known specific overdose reactions.If you forget an application, do not use a double dose.Continue therapy at the next scheduled time with the same dosage and at the same interval/rhythm.If necessary, you can also use the medicine between two scheduled times or make up for a forgotten application.

If you interrupt the application, you must expect that the typical symptoms of dry eye will soon appear again.If possible, do not interrupt treatment with the medicine without consulting your doctor.

Application

For use on the eyes.Tilt your head back and use the index finger of one hand to pull the lower eyelid down.With your other hand, hold the tube vertically over the eye without touching the eye and drip a drop into the pulled-down conjunctival sac.Slowly close your eye and move it back and forth to spread the gel well.

To avoid contamination of the dropper tip and eye gel, do not allow the dropper tip to come into contact with the eyelid, the area surrounding the eye or other surfaces.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before using the product.Contact lenses should be removed before use.They can be reinserted 15 minutes after the preparation has been instilled.

Since this medicine, even when used as intended, has a short-term effect on visual performance and thus on the ability to react due to the formation of streaks, you should not drive, work without a secure footing or operate machines during this time.

Safety and effectiveness at the dosage recommended for adults are assumed based on clinical experience.However, there is no data from clinical studies.

Notes

After instillation into the conjunctival sac of the eye, blurred vision may only last a few minutes due to the formation of streaks.During this time, no machines should be operated and no traffic should be taken.

Since the eye gel contains cetrimide as a preservative, medicines without preservatives should be preferred for the long-term treatment of chronic dry conjunctivitis (keratoconjunctivitis sicca).
