Heweneural 1% ampoules is a local anesthetic used for neural therapy.It belongs to the local anesthetic medicines and is a local anesthetic of the acid amide type.This product is available without a prescription.

Ingredients

1 Ampoule of 2 ml Heweneural 1% contains the following ingredients:

Active ingredient: Lidocaine hydrochloride 1 H2O 20 mg, equivalent to 16.2 mg lidocaine.

Other ingredients: sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide solution 25%, water for injections.

Contraindications

Heweneural 1% must not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned.In addition, it should not be used in cases of severe disorders of the cardiac conduction system, acute cardiac failure or shock.

Precautions for use

Take special care when using Heweneural 1% if you have kidney or liver disease, myasthenia gravis or if the injection is to be made into an inflamed area.

Dosage

The dosage of Heweneural 1% should be made individually according to the specifics of the individual case.The basic rule is that only the smallest dose that achieves the desired effect may be administered.

For adolescents over 15 years of age and adults of average height, the usual dose per wheal is up to 20 mg lidocaine hydrochloride 1 H2O (equivalent to up to 2 ml Heweneural 1%).

When applied to tissue from which substances are rapidly absorbed, a single dosage of 300 mg lidocaine hydrochloride 1 H2O without vasoconstrictor additive or 500 mg lidocaine hydrochloride 1 H2O with vasoconstrictor additive should not be exceeded.

In patients with a reduced general condition or altered plasma protein binding, smaller doses must generally be used.

Type of application

Heweneural 1% is injected into the skin (intracutaneously).The injection solution is only intended for one-time use.The application must take place immediately after opening the container.Any unused leftovers must be discarded.

Interactions with other agents

Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.

The simultaneous administration of vasoconstricting drugs leads to a longer duration of action of Heweneural 1%.When Heweneural 1% and Secale alkaloids (such as ergotamine) or epinephrine are administered at the same time, a pronounced drop in blood pressure can occur.

Caution is advised when using sedatives, which also influence the function of the central nervous system (ZNS) and can alter the damaging effects of local anesthetics.

If Aprindin and Heweneural 1% are used at the same time, side effects may increase.

Caution is advised during simultaneous therapy with certain cardiac medications (propranolol, diltiazem and verapamil).A decrease in lidocaine hydrochloride 1 H2O excretion results in a significant increase in the excretion time with the risk of lidocaine accumulation.

Combinations of different local anesthetics cause additive effects on the cardiovascular system and ZNS.

Caution is advised when administering the H2 blocker cimetidine at the same time.Due to a decrease in liver blood flow and inhibition of degradation, damaging lidocaine blood concentrations can occur even after intercostal blockade.

The effect of non-depolarizing muscle relaxants is prolonged by Heweneural 1.

Information on shelf life and storage

The medicine should no longer be used after the expiry date stated on the container and outer carton.Do not store above 25°C!Protect from light!Store ampoules in the outer box!Always keep medicines away from children!
