ASS Stada 500 mg tablets are an analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory medicine used to treat mild to moderately severe pain and fever. It contains the active substance acetylsalicylic acid. The dosage depends on the age of the patient. In children aged 6 to 14 years, the recommended single dose is 1/2 to 1 tablet (corresponding to 250-500 mg acetylsalicylic acid) and the total daily dose is 1 1/2 to 3 tablets (corresponding to 750-1500 mg acetylsalicylic acid). Adolescents and adults can take 1-2 tablets (corresponding to 500-1000 mg acetylsalicylic acid), up to a maximum of 6 tablets per day (corresponding to 1500-3000 mg acetylsalicylic acid). The tablets should be taken with plenty of liquid and not on an empty stomach. The maximum duration of use is 4 days. In the event of an overdose, symptoms such as dizziness and ringing in the ears may occur. In this case, a doctor should be consulted immediately. The medicine should be used in children and adolescents with febrile illnesses only on medical advice to avoid the risk of Reye's syndrome. There are some contraindications to its use, such as hypersensitivity to the ingredients, stomach or duodenal problems, asthma or impaired kidney or liver function. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking the medicine. Side effects may occur, such as gastrointestinal complaints or allergic reactions. The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date. There are no special storage conditions for the medicine.
