Ringer's lactate according to Hartmann B. Braun is a solution for the supply of fluids and salts to the body. It is administered via a venous drip and is similar in composition to human blood. It is used to compensate for fluid and salt losses, normalise the acid-base balance and replace blood loss. Ringer's lactate according to Hartmann B. Braun must not be used if the utilisation of lactate is impaired or if you have too much water in your body. Special care should be taken in patients with certain diseases or when taking certain medicines. An overdose can lead to overhydration. Possible side effects are rare and usually mild. Ringer's lactate according to Hartmann B. Braun should be kept in a cool place and out of the reach of children. For more information, see the package leaflet.
