It contains salts (electrolytes) and glucose which help to balance the fluid and salt levels in the body. Elotrans is used in children, adolescents and adults. The dosage depends on the severity of the diarrhoea and should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor. The medicine is dissolved in water and should be used immediately. In case of nausea and vomiting, it is recommended to take the solution slowly. The duration of use should not exceed 36 hours. In infants, the duration of use depends on the doctor's instructions. Side effects may include nausea and vomiting. People with certain diseases and allergies should not use the medicine. There may be interactions with other medicines.
