Zinc ointment-CT is traditionally used to support wound healing.This application is based on many years of experience and tradition.The ointment serves as a protective layer for injured tissue and its ingredients moisturize and promote wound healing.It has also proven effective in treating sore baby bottoms.

Mode of action

Zinc ions in the ointment have a direct effect on wound healing because, as a component of many enzymes, they are important for the cells involved in the inflammatory process.Cod liver oil, rich in vitamin A, plays a crucial role in wound healing of skin tissue.The ointment forms a protective layer that also allows air circulation and thus promotes the healing process.

Active ingredients and ingredients

1 g of zinc ointment-CT contains the following active ingredients: zinc oxide 100 mg, cod liver oil 75 mg and glycerol 85% 100 mg.Other ingredients include butylated hydroxytoluene, cetostearyl alcohol, citric acid-1-water, glycerol monostearate, palmitoyl ascorbic acid, thin paraffin, propylene glycol, vanillin, white petroleum jelly, purified water and wool wax alcohols.

Contraindications

The product should not be used if there is a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Dosage and application

Apply the ointment to the affected skin areas one to several times a day.Before each reapplication, remove any remaining ointment.For sore baby bottoms, the ointment is applied to a large area when changing diapers.For weeping wounds, apply the ointment around the edge of the wound, covering 1.5 - 2 cm of healthy skin to protect it from wound secretions.

Patient information

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the ointment if there is no improvement in wound healing or if you need to undergo X-ray or radiation treatment.In the latter case, the ointment should be completely removed as shadows may form.No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.The ointment can be used during pregnancy if used as directed, but application to large areas should be avoided.Breastfeeding women should avoid large areas of application to the breast and clean the breast thoroughly before breastfeeding.
